Defectio Muneris
Defectio Muneris is the failure of a Domus Sigillata to fulfill the Munus Sigilli owed by its Seal. It may result in fines, audits, increased obligations, suspension of privileges, imperial custody, revocation of rights, or political punishment.
Domus
A Domus is a legally recognized noble family of the Aurellian Empire. The term replaces the common idea of a noble “house” and refers to a bloodline, its estates, its legal rights, its inheritance claims, and its political standing.

Domus Sigillata
A Domus Sigillata is a Domus that owns and governs a Seal by hereditary right.
A Domus Sigillata has the right to tax, judge, build, fortify, administer, raise levies, grant local privileges, and pass the Seal through succession. Its authority exists within imperial law, but the Seal itself belongs to the Domus.

Elevatio Domus
Elevatio Domus is the formal elevation of a Lesser Domus into the rank of High Domus. It may be granted for extraordinary service, sustained wealth, political necessity, marriage consolidation, replacement of a fallen Domus, or imperial reward.
Excidium Domus
Excidium Domus is the formal fall, reduction, or stripping of a noble Domus. It may reduce a High Domus to lesser status, remove rights, break claims, or mark the family as fallen under imperial law.

Fallen Domus
A Fallen Domus is a noble family that has lost legal recognition, rank, Seal ownership, or imperial standing. Such families may still possess blood claims, old estates, supporters, and political memory, but their lawful authority has been broken.
